Analogue 3D Release Delayed Again: FPGA N64 Console Now Shipping in Q4 2025
The highly anticipated Analogue 3D, an FPGA-powered reimagining of the classic Nintendo 64 console, has experienced another significant delay.
Analogue, the company renowned for its high-fidelity retro hardware including the Analogue Pocket and Super Nt, announced via social media that the new console will now launch in the fourth quarter of 2025—further shifting its shipping window after a series of earlier postponements.
This most recent update comes after Analogue originally set an ambitious Q1 2025 release date when pre-orders for the Analogue 3D opened in October of the prior year.
Subsequent delays pushed the projection to July, then late August 2025 following unforeseen tariff changes.
Now, with the latest company statement, customers are told to expect shipments by the end of 2025.
In its official communication, Analogue addressed its community: “Our team has worked tirelessly to process shipping for everyone who has waited with patience.
While rare, unexpected challenges did arise, and we are committed to ensuring every aspect of the Analogue 3D meets our established standards.
The final phases of development—comprising both hardware and system packaging—have seen completion for months, but the last finishing touches are essential.”
The statement continued, emphasizing Analogue’s commitment to quality: “We recognize another delay can be frustrating after months of anticipation.
Analogue 3D’s four-year development has reached 99% completion, and now we are fully focused on perfecting the remaining 1%.
Our shipping date has been intentionally moved to Q4 to ensure we exceed customer expectations.
Thank you for your ongoing patience and trust.”
Previously, Analogue assured customers affected by new tariffs that they would not bear any added costs, reaffirming, “We’re absorbing the costs—your preorder price stays the same.
No additional charges.”
Despite these reassurances, concerns have mounted within the community over a lack of official footage demonstrating Analogue 3D in action, especially as some customers were reportedly told as late as July that their units would ship that month.
This perceived communication breakdown has spurred frustration among pre-order customers, some of whom—according to Retro Dodo—were told mere days prior to the latest delay that their consoles would ship on time.
For those reconsidering their purchases, Analogue has reaffirmed its policy: “If you have an open order for Analogue 3D, no further action is required.
Should you wish to cancel your pre-order at any time, our no-questions-asked, 100% refund policy remains in effect.”
In related updates, Analogue also confirmed that the Pocket White edition is once again in stock and announced the release of new firmware updates: PocketOS v2.5 and DuoOS v1.5, further enhancing the company’s commitment to its existing ecosystem.
As the retro gaming community awaits the arrival of the Analogue 3D, the company’s dedication to both transparency and quality will remain in the spotlight.
The delay may be disappointing, but Analogue’s reputation for high-caliber hardware ensures anticipation remains high for this modern reimagining of the Nintendo 64 experience.
