ININ Games has confirmed a delay for the physical editions of R-Type Dimensions III, the upcoming remake of the SNES shoot-em-up R-Type III: The Third Lightning developed in cooperation with Tozai Games and Irem.
The publisher reiterated that the digital version remains on track for release on May 19, 2026, across Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC via Steam, while standard and special physical editions will now ship on August 11, 2026.
The Collector's Edition is rescheduled for Winter 2026 and will include a figure produced in collaboration with Wētā Workshop.
ININ attributed the postponement to ongoing global production and logistics challenges and said it prioritized delivering physical products that meet the series' quality expectations.
To give customers immediate access, ININ is offering pre-order customers a digital key to play at launch, but noted two important conditions: requesting a key converts the physical pre-order into a non-cancellable order, and Nintendo customers who claimed standard or special physical editions must pay an additional service fee of €9.99.
Customers who pre-ordered the Switch and Switch 2 Collector's Editions will not incur that fee.
The move follows a series of promotional milestones for Dimensions III.
