ININ Publisher has released a third major patch for R-Type Dimensions III, framing the update as a relaunch of the title following a sequence of corrective patches.

The latest update focuses on boss encounters in Advanced Mode, adjusting boss design and attack patterns to more closely emulate the behaviour of the original R-Type III: The Third Lightning.

The publisher also announced that a digital artbook—previously bundled only with the Ultimate Edition on Steam—has now been made available on all platforms as a goodwill addition.

Earlier updates to R-Type Dimensions III addressed a wide range of issues, with ININ noting work across gameplay, collision detection, audio, and visual elements to bring the compilation nearer to the original R-Type III experience.

ININ described this third patch as the final step in the effort to correct outstanding problems and said it was treating the release as a fresh relaunch of the product.

The company credited the R-Type community for shaping the outcome: players who documented bugs, tested interim builds, and participated in feedback channels materially influenced the changes that went into these updates.

ININ extended thanks to everyone who reported issues and followed the patch process.

R-Type Dimensions III is part of the long-running R-Type franchise, originally developed by Irem.

ININ’s ongoing support for the modern release reflects a broader trend among publishers to iterate on official releases post-launch based on player feedback.

The publisher’s reference to Steam confirms the PC storefront as a distribution channel for the title; the update rollout also reaches console storefronts and digital platforms, ensuring owners can download the fixes via their platform’s update system.

For players following the patch history, ININ’s public acknowledgement of community input and the inclusion of previously exclusive content mark a notable stage in the game’s post-launch lifecycle.

Owners can check the relevant platform storefronts or ININ’s official channels for full patch notes and instructions on obtaining the added digital artbook.
