Mega Man: Dual Override's Robot Master Contest Now Open for Fan Voting on Nintendo Switch 2

Mega Man: Dual Override, the highly anticipated next installment in Capcom’s legendary action-platformer franchise, was officially unveiled during the 2025 Game Awards last December.

Building on the series' enduring legacy, Capcom continues to engage its dedicated fan base with interactive content and community-driven initiatives.

In a notable move, the company launched a design contest inviting fans to submit ideas for a new Robot Master character inspired by suction-themed powers. Capcom has since announced that the submission phase for the Robot Master contest has closed.

After thorough review by the Capcom design team, the top 20 fan-created designs have been selected as finalists.

The final decision-making power now rests with the Mega Man community, as Capcom has opened up fan voting to determine which concept will move forward. To cast a vote, fans are required to log in with a Capcom ID.

Each participant is permitted a single vote, which cannot be edited or rescinded once submitted.

This ensures a fair and transparent voting process.

Capcom emphasizes the importance of participation, as the winning design will ultimately shape a key boss character in Mega Man: Dual Override. The voting period for the Robot Master design contest remains open until Friday, February 6th.

Following this phase, the six most popular entries will advance to the final round.

Capcom’s development team will then select the ultimate Robot Master from these finalists, officially integrating the fan-designed character into the finished game. Fans and newcomers alike are encouraged to participate and support their favorite designs by visiting Capcom’s official contest page.

Notably, Mega Man: Dual Override is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, signaling a new era for the beloved franchise on Nintendo’s next-generation hardware.

This collaborative approach—from crowdsourcing character designs to fan voting—not only honors Mega Man’s roots but also reinforces Capcom’s commitment to engaging its global audience. In addition to Dual Override, Mega Man fans can look forward to more content on Nintendo platforms.

The Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is set for release in late March 2026, and the five classic Game Boy Mega Man titles have recently been added to Nintendo Switch Online, further expanding the iconic series’ presence in the digital marketplace. With these initiatives, Capcom continues to solidify Mega Man’s legacy, delivering fresh experiences while celebrating community creativity.
