The compilation, first released digitally in 2018, brings together four entries from the Mega Man X series that originally appeared on PlayStation and PlayStation 2 hardware.
Background and contents
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 includes Mega Man X5 (2000) and Mega Man X6 (2001) from the PlayStation era, alongside PlayStation 2 entries Mega Man X7 (2003) and Mega Man X8 (2004).
These titles continue the stories of Mega Man X and Maverick Hunter Zero and were packaged as a digital collection by Capcom in 2018 across multiple platforms.
Limited Run editions and pricing
Limited Run Games has announced three physical editions for the Nintendo Switch release.
The Standard Edition, priced at $40 / €35, will include a boxed game card and an instruction manual.
The Double Pack Edition is priced at $80 / €71 and contains boxed copies of both Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2, presented together in a rigid slipcase.
The highest-tier Maverick Hunter Edition carries a $140 / €125 price and bundles both collections in the slipcase plus additional physical extras: a collector’s box, four character patches, a plush "Meetool" keyring and a light-up Dr. Light "Hologram Canister." The Maverick Hunter Edition therefore commands a significant premium relative to the Standard and Double Pack editions due to these added collectibles.
Availability and platforms
All three physical editions are available to pre-order from November 12 through January 3, according to Limited Run Games.
The company has not provided a shipping date for the physical releases.
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 remain available digitally on PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch via the respective storefronts, including the Nintendo eShop.
For collectors and fans of Capcom’s Blue Bomber, the upcoming Limited Run physical release offers several ways to own the series on Nintendo Switch.
Buyers should note the announced pre-order window and the lack of a confirmed ship date when planning purchases.
