Type-Moon Games has uploaded a new character trailer for Melty Blood: Type Lumina, the modern entry in the long-running Melty Blood fighting-game series based on Type-Moon’s Tsukihime visual novel.

Developed by Type-Moon in collaboration with French-Bread and published by Aniplex, Melty Blood: Type Lumina launched on September 30, 2021 for Nintendo Switch and also released for PlayStation 4, Windows (Steam), and Xbox platforms.

The newly posted trailer spotlights twin maids Hisui and Kohaku, two recurring characters from Tsukihime and the Melty Blood franchise.

In the trailer, the sisters face off against previously featured fighter Ciel, with sequences that demonstrate each character’s distinctive moves and combat style.

The footage is available on Type-Moon’s official channels and the game’s website.

Rewriting the character notes in journalistic terms: Hisui, voiced by Kana Ichinose, serves the Tohno family and is responsible for many household duties and caring for Shiki.

She is the younger twin and is typically portrayed as quiet and formal; her reserved manner and modern wardrobe contrast with her sister’s more traditional appearance.

Although not presented as the stronger fighter of the two, Hisui is described as capable and composed in battle.

Kohaku, voiced by Yūki Kuwahara, has also served the Tohno family since childhood.

She commonly appears in an apron over a kimono and handles household support and garden duties while also tending to Shiki’s needs using her pharmaceutical knowledge.

In combat sequences shown in the trailer, Kohaku wields a concealed sword kept in her broom, summons strange plant-based attacks, and drops incendiary devices—abilities that underline her unpredictable and energetic fighting presence.

The trailer’s matchup against Ciel reiterates the roster-driven, character-focused presentation Type-Moon and French-Bread have used to highlight Melty Blood: Type Lumina’s cast.

For players on Nintendo Switch, the game is available via the Nintendo eShop following its September 30 launch.

For further details, the official Melty Blood: Type Lumina site and Type-Moon’s channels host the full trailer and additional character information.
