Sega has confirmed a Multiplayer Closed Network Test for Crazy Taxi: World Tour, its long-awaited revival of the Crazy Taxi series slated for release in 2027.
The studio released an announcement trailer last month and followed up with a new video introducing the game’s West Coast map and a windowed online test focused on multiplayer stability and cross-play.
The Closed Network Test is scheduled to run from 11 September to 13 September 2026.
Sign-ups are open until 31 August 2026 via the official Closed Network Test website.
Sega has stated the technical trial will be used to evaluate online multiplayer performance and cross-play systems; the company also confirmed the test will not be accessible on Switch 2.
Sega provided early details on the West Coast map in the new trailer.
Players can expect a high-energy sandbox of scripted mayhem that includes activities such as demolishing sand castles, delivering pizza to customers, and launching muscle men into the ocean.
The trailer also reiterated the series’ long-running tradition of featuring recognizable retail storefronts inside levels.
