Unrailed 2 Launch Trailer Live: Indoor Astronaut Releases Couch Co-op Railroad Builder on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

Indoor Astronaut has released the official launch trailer for Unrailed 2 as the game exits Steam Early Access and arrives in its 1.0 form on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The Swiss indie developer’s second title builds on the cooperative, frantic gameplay that made Unrailed (2020) a fan favorite, positioning the sequel as a must-play for couch co-op audiences.

Unrailed 2 expands the original formula with procedurally generated worlds that demand constant coordination.

Indoor Astronaut characterized the sequel’s core loop as a blend of chaotic moments and strict teamwork: players must cooperate to lay track and prevent their locomotive from derailing as it traverses new biomes.

The publisher also summarized the basic objective plainly—maintain the train’s momentum by working together, even if derailments happen; each mishap offers opportunities to recover with new perks and abilities.

The 1.0 release introduces a brand-new seventh biome, the Underground Unit, described by the studio as a secret United Rail Division laboratory filled with laser barriers, hidden switches and a challenging new boss.

Officially named the Administrative Intelligence of the United Railway Division, the floating “Head” boss is presented as a difficult encounter designed to test player coordination and mastery of new mechanics.

Alongside the Underground Unit, Indoor Astronaut is shipping additional content and quality-of-life updates that accumulated during Early Access.

The launch includes new game modes—Classic for a more traditional Unrailed experience, plus Time Attack, Sandbox and Versus modes supporting up to eight players for competitive sessions.

Cosmetic crossovers and skins arriving in 1.0 reference other indie hits, with appearances such as the Crewmate from Among Us, the heroic cat from Cat Quest III, and Tchia among the new cosmetic options.

The studio has also rounded out the package with three further biomes and refinements aimed at enabling players to choose how they want to play, from relaxed sessions to intense, timed challenges.

Unrailed 2’s launch trailer is available now from Indoor Astronaut, and the game is out on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Physical editions are also being offered; interested players should consult retailers or the developer for availability and ordering details.
