The release coincides with the 60th anniversary of Ultraman’s first television appearance in 1966, and builds on the game’s library of licensed kaiju and giant-hero fighters developed for console and PC platforms.
According to the DLC announcement, the pack adds Ultraman Zero and Ultraman Belial in their debut cinematic forms from the 2009 film Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy — each arriving with bespoke move sets tailored for GigaBash’s platform-based combat.
The publisher’s statement emphasizes that both characters preserve the look and signature techniques fans expect while being balanced for competitive arena play on Nintendo Switch and other platforms where GigaBash is available.
The announcement describes Ultraman Zero as a warrior who learned from past mistakes and channels that growth into disciplined combat.
In-game, Zero will wield the Zero Sluggers for close control, employ Emerium Slashes for ranged pressure, and incorporate space martial arts as core mechanics for mobility and combo extension.
By contrast, the DLC positions Ultraman Belial as a fallen Ultra driven by power and vengeance.
The developer notes Belial’s kit centers on overwhelming offense: the Giga Battlenizer serves as a signature weapon, while dark fireballs, the Belial Whip, and a powerful finisher called Belial Genothunder provide tools for area denial and burst damage.
Passion Republic Games, the studio behind GigaBash, has framed the two additions as a thematic duel of light versus darkness, reflecting a long-running narrative rivalry within the Ultraman franchise maintained by Tsuburaya Productions.
The DLC release is accompanied by an official trailer that demonstrates each character’s animation, hitboxes, and cinematic finishers ahead of the July 9 deployment.
For players on Nintendo Switch, the Ultraman Zero DLC will be available through the Nintendo eShop on release day.
The update marks another crossover moment for GigaBash and provides both casual fans and competitive players with new matchups and strategies tied to two of the franchise’s most recognizable figures.
