Pikmin Bloom Hosts Special Trafalgar Square Event at Japan Matsuri 2025

Nintendo is set to make a major appearance at London’s upcoming Japan Matsuri, one of the UK’s premier annual festivals celebrating Japanese culture, by bringing Pikmin Bloom and a dedicated Pikmin event to Trafalgar Square on September 21, 2025.

This marks the first time a Pikmin stall will be featured at the landmark event, further cementing the iconic plant-like creatures as ambassadors for interactive and mobile gaming. Festival attendees will be able to take part in a special Pikmin Bloom in-app challenge simply by bringing their smartphones.

Upon physically entering Trafalgar Square, a unique walking mission in Pikmin Bloom will be activated, giving fans the opportunity to earn an in-app Gold Seedling.

Completing this mission rewards users with an exclusive Decor Pikmin crafted to commemorate Japan Matsuri—adding a digital memento to their collection. Pikmin Bloom, developed in partnership with Nintendo and Niantic, gamifies daily walks by allowing users to interact with mysterious Pikmin species that are inspired by the world around them.

The app has garnered attention for its creative blend of physical activity and augmented reality, encouraging players to explore their environment and nurture their Pikmin squad. Beyond the Japan Matsuri Decor Pikmin, fans will be able to obtain a variety of highly sought-after Decor Pikmin during the event, including the Mario Hat Pikmin and the rare Fortune Pikmin—usually available only at shrines and temples in Japan.

These collectibles can be earned by visiting specific locations within Trafalgar Square during the festival. The Pikmin stall will offer a range of interactive experiences, such as an augmented reality photobooth where guests can take home digital photos and videos with Pikmin characters.

All event activities are complimentary, with Nintendo providing free Pikmin visors and postcards to visitors, while supplies last, to further enhance fan engagement at the festival. Ahead of the September 21 event, Pikmin Bloom users can join the 'Walk Together with Japan Matsuri' Party Walk from September 9 to 30, 2025.
