Tomodachi Life Reclaims UK Physical Charts Top Spot as GfK Data Shows Switch Strength

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has climbed back to number one on the latest UK physical charts compiled by market researcher GfK, displacing Capcom's Pragmata after a single-week stay at the summit.

The life-sim from Nintendo reclaimed the top position despite several high-profile new releases entering the chart this period.

GfK's weekly UK physical sales ranking shows a notable reshuffle among recent launches.

Housemarque's PS5 exclusive Saros debuted strongly but finished at number three, while Capcom's new IP Pragmata fell to tenth following its initial surge.

Fighting game Invincible VS entered the chart at number seven.

The data underline continued buyer demand for physical formats across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, the newer Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and PC.

Rewriting notable commentary in neutral journalistic terms: Nintendo Life suggested that community buzz and online memes contributed to Tomodachi Life's resurgence on the charts, an observation echoed by several retail and social channels during the tracking week.

Several other entries recorded significant movements and platform breakdowns in the GfK report.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition held at number two, with platform share reported as PC 69%, PS5 30% and Switch 2 1%.

EA SPORTS FC 26 jumped from 29th to fourth and showed a mixed platform split (PS5 48%, Switch 24%, PS4 13%, Switch 2 8%).

Pragmata's sales were concentrated on PS5 (64%), with Switch 2 accounting for 22% and Xbox platforms 14% of its physical sales.

Nintendo franchises remain prominent: Pokémon Pokopia returned to the top five, Mario Kart World sat at number eight, and several legacy Mario and Pokémon releases continued to perform across Switch and Switch 2.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A showed an even platform split between Switch and Switch 2 in the GfK breakdown, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons retained a significant Switch presence (Switch 74%, Switch 2 26%).

The GfK-compiled top 40 reflects a hybrid market where new IPs and long-running franchises coexist, and where platform-specific editions (notably PS5 and Switch family hardware) play a clear role in physical sales distribution.

Full weekly rankings and platform splits are available in GfK's published chart for the UK physical market.
