Saber Interactive has announced that Turok: Origins will be delayed, moving the game's launch window to Spring 2027.

The title had been planned to reach Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms this year, but the studio confirmed the updated ship window alongside a new story trailer.

In its statement, Saber Interactive made clear that the project’s release schedule has shifted: the studio now says Turok: Origins will arrive in Spring 2027.

Saber Interactive did not immediately provide further comment on the reasons for the delay.

What Turok: Origins offers

Saber Interactive describes Turok: Origins as a high-stakes action experience built around combat, exploration, and progression systems.

The developer notes players will take on the roles of legendary Turok warriors to battle dinosaurs and an alien threat intent on extinguishing human life across the galaxy.

Core gameplay and progression highlights cited by the team include:

- Cooperative and solo play: A campaign that supports single-player and cooperative play to unravel the game's central mystery.

- Combat and weaponry: A range of weapons such as plasma rifles, ray guns, snipers, bows, and shotguns, plus melee options and special abilities to counter diverse enemy types across ground, sky, swamps, and caves.

- DNA upgrade system: Mechanics that let players extract DNA from fallen enemies and environments to evolve suits and unlock upgradeable powers and visual changes in real time.

- Expansive environments: Missions that span ancient temples, wasteland canyons, dense jungles and other planetary locations, each intended to contribute to a story with twists and reveals.

Saber Interactive also released a new story trailer to accompany the delay announcement, offering fresh footage and narrative context while the team prepares for the adjusted Spring 2027 launch window.

What this means for Nintendo Switch 2 fans

The delay affects the planned Nintendo Switch 2 release alongside versions for other platforms.

Saber Interactive's confirmation that the title will ship in Spring 2027 is the definitive scheduling update at this time, and the studio has yet to provide a final release date or additional platform-specific details.

We'll continue to track official updates from Saber Interactive and report when a firm release date, platform list, or further developer commentary is provided.

For now, the new story trailer is the latest public material from the team behind Turok: Origins.
