Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Physical Editions Announced for Nintendo Switch: Pre-Orders and Release Details

GungHo Entertainment has officially announced two special physical releases for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter on the Nintendo Switch.

RPG fans can look forward to both the Steelbook Edition and the premium Bracer Edition, each packed with exclusive collectibles and content, having their debut alongside the game’s anticipated launch on September 19, 2025.

This marks another significant moment for Nihon Falcom’s beloved title, introducing the classic adventure to a new generation of Nintendo Switch players. The Steelbook Edition is set to be available on launch day and includes a variety of sought-after bonuses.

Buyers will receive the standard edition of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, along with the "Launch Celebration Pack" featuring exclusive DLC costumes and item sets.

This package also contains the Classic Style Estelle and Joshua outfit DLCs, a foil embossed slipcover, and a collectible Steelbook case.

The Steelbook Edition is priced at $79.99 and offers a compelling combination for collectors and series newcomers alike. For dedicated fans and series veterans, the Bracer Edition delivers a premium unboxing experience.

This comprehensive package includes all contents from the Steelbook Edition as well as a number of unique extras: a “Whereabouts of Light” wooden music box, an official Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter art book, a Bracer Guild notebook, an original mini soundtrack CD, a Liberl cloth map, and a Bracer Edition display box.

The Bracer Edition is set at $179.99 and will ship in two parts—ahead of launch for the base game and Steelbook contents, with the remainder arriving between November 15 and December 15. Pre-orders for these editions are now open.

North American customers can secure their copies exclusively through Limited Run Games.

In Europe, fans can either pre-order the Standard Edition or the Collector’s Edition from Clear River Games and other select retailers. In addition to the physical options, GungHo has confirmed a Digital Deluxe Edition for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, available on the Nintendo eShop.

The Digital Deluxe Edition comes bundled with the full digital version of the game and a season pass, which will be separately available for $24.99. To celebrate the announcement, GungHo also shared a new video spotlighting Estelle Bright, one of the central protagonists of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.
