The Ninja Edition is a next-gen update to the beat ’em up that previously released on Nintendo Switch and will be distributed through the Nintendo eShop for the digital launch.
The Switch 2 port promises a suite of technical upgrades: native 1080p resolution in handheld mode and up to 4K when docked, a locked 60 frames per second performance target, HDR support, faster loading times, and visual improvements including anti-aliasing, enhanced lighting, dynamic shadows, and updated reflection effects.
Trailmark Games also confirmed two exclusive playable characters for the Ninja Edition — Master Splinter and Casey Jones — joining the four primary turtles.
In an overview provided by the publisher, Trailmark Games described the core experience as a faithful arcade-style beat ’em up inspired by classic entries like Turtles in Time.
Players will control Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo from the 2012 Nickelodeon series as they fight across locales such as Coney Island and Dimension X to oppose the Foot Clan and their leader Shredder.
The Turtle roster is voiced by the original 2012 series cast: Seth Green (Leonardo), Sean Astin (Raphael), Rob Paulsen (Donatello) and Greg Cipes (Michelangelo).
Key features highlighted for the Ninja Edition include six stages and 13 boss fights — a package that incorporates three stages and six bosses not present in the original arcade release — unique super attacks for each turtle, collectible tokens that summon mutant allies, and four-player local couch co-op support.
Those features are presented alongside the Switch 2-specific technical enhancements to deliver a smoother, sharper arcade experience on Nintendo’s next console.
Trailmark Games has released an announcement trailer alongside the reveal.
Fans interested in Nintendo Switch 2 coverage or the upcoming Ninja Edition release can watch the trailer and expect the digital eShop launch on September 4, 2026, with physical copies available October 9, 2026.
