QUByte Interactive and Piko Interactive have officially announced the upcoming release of Beat ‘Em Up Collection (QUByte Classics), a bundle that celebrates the golden age of side-scrolling action games.
Slated for a July 17, 2024 release, this retro-inspired collection will launch simultaneously across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms, with a competitive price point of $19.99.
This meticulously curated Beat ‘Em Up Collection brings together seven renowned and diverse classic titles, originally hailing from the Commodore Amiga, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).
The compilation offers a nostalgic journey through multiple settings, from ancient mythologies to post-apocalyptic futures, providing hours of engaging, cooperative, or solo gameplay.
The featured titles are:
- First Samurai – A mystical time-traveling adventure starring a lone samurai who must wield ancient powers and enchanted weapons to banish demons and reclaim balance.
- Second Samurai – The saga continues as players battle the Demon King, traverse different eras, conquer fast-paced martial arts combat, and solve challenging environments.
- Gourmet Warriors – Set in a quirky, dystopian metropolis where food is scarce, this brawler has players face off against mutants and robotic enemies in a deliciously chaotic melee.
- Iron Commando – Select either Jake, a soldier, or Chang Li, a martial artist, and thwart the villainous G.H.O.S.T.

- Sword of Sodan – Play as a powerful barbarian (male or female) to confront the evil sorcerer Zora in a game renowned for its dark fantasy atmosphere and intense fights.
- The Tale of Clouds and Winds (Water Margin) – Drawing from the famed Chinese novel “Water Margin,” battle as one of three heroes through branching paths and multiple endings in ancient China.
Each of these classic entries is enhanced with modern features, including a rewind option, controller remapping, unlockable cheat codes, customizable screen filters, digital manuals, and multilingual support for English, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish menus.
