City Connection has announced an HD remake of Irem's 1993 arcade beat 'em up Ninja Baseball Bat Man (also known in Japan as Ninja Baseball League-Man), bringing the cult classic to modern platforms including Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.

The remake is scheduled to release on December 10, 2026, with a digital price of 4,180 yen and a physical edition priced at 5,500 yen for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

Background and historical context

Ninja Baseball Bat Man began life as Irem's answer to Konami's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade series.

The original title saw the majority of its commercial success in Japan after a limited showing in the United States.

Drew Maniscalco, the concept creator for the original game, has previously described the US launch as a disaster, and attributed that outcome to shifting priorities at Irem America toward the console market, particularly the SNES, combined with a lack of marketing investment.

What the remake includes

According to the Steam store listing and official materials, the HD remake supports up to four players and introduces a new high-difficulty arranged mode, additional minigames, and a fully rearranged soundtrack from composer Yosuke Yasui.

Players will be able to toggle between the original arcade score and the remade soundtrack.

The announced physical release for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 includes a fanbook and soundtrack for those who pre-order.

Gameplay description (rewritten from the publisher blurb)

City Connection describes the remake as a fast-paced side-scrolling brawler in which the player characters, the League-Man heroes, mount a rescue mission to recover a stolen Golden Baseball Statue.

The updated combat retains the arcade emphasis on chaining combos, rapid button inputs for throw techniques, and single-button special attacks for flashy clear-screen moves.

A previously non-playable support character, Pink, will be playable in this version, expanding the original roster.

Localization and platform support

The Steam listing confirms language support in English, French, Spanish, simplified and traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

The remake will be available across modern consoles and PC, marking one of the more prominent revivals of an Irem property in recent years.

With a fixed release date and pricing details now public, City Connection's remake gives long-time fans and newcomers a clear launch target for this niche but fondly remembered arcade property.
