What Reignite brings to Steam

When Reignite was revealed in April, Cave described the project as preserving the core identity of Dodonpachi Resurrection while adding content and accessibility features for modern players.

The company said the title retains the franchise’s signature ‘‘overwhelming bullet patterns’’ and ‘‘intense tactical play,’’ while introducing new stages, a new playable character, and newly composed music.

Cave also confirmed the Steam release will support seven languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese.

Platform history and context

Dodonpachi Resurrection originally debuted in arcades in 2008 and has since been ported to multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, Xbox 360, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.

The original Steam port launched on October 14, 2016 and incorporated content from the Xbox 360 releases, including the 1.51 DLC and the Japan-only Black Label edition.

Reignite is positioned as a Steam-first release at an unspecified future date, with further details to follow.
