Tamagotchi Plaza Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Reveals Exclusive Shops and Release Date

Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Tamagotchi Plaza Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, shining a light on its innovative use of the upcoming hardware's advanced controls and highlighting several exclusive features tailored for the platform.

Fans of the iconic '90s Tamagotchi series and the longtime Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop franchise will find much to anticipate as the classic digital pet experience is reimagined for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Tamagotchi Plaza Nintendo Switch 2 Edition introduces three exclusive shops that utilize the new Joy-Con 2 controller's mouse functionality, promising a unique interactive experience.

Players will be able to prepare sushi for eager customers in the Sushi Shop, demonstrate precision and agility in the Shuriken Shop, and combine culinary skills and ninja action in the Sushi Shuriken Shop—all exclusive to the Switch 2 version thanks to the enhanced Joy-Con 2 controls.

Bandai Namco Entertainment detailed that these shops are designed to make full use of the improved hardware, offering gameplay not found on previous platforms. Continuing the beloved formula of establishing and managing quirky Tamagotchi businesses, Tamagotchi Plaza returns to the roots of the Corner Shop series by inviting players to help Prince Tamahiko transform Tamahiko Town into a vibrant locale worthy of hosting the Great Gotchi King's Tamagotchi Fest.

Players will oversee a total of 12 different shops arranged throughout the bustling plaza.

Classic venues such as the Dentist return, joined by new additions like the Afternoon Tea Shop, Eyewear, and Galette shops. Each establishment in Tamagotchi Plaza brings its own minigame, pushing players' creativity and reflexes.

The game also features a local multiplayer mode, enabling friends to cooperate as they strive to increase each shop's reputation.

As the shops thrive, players will attract over 100 unique Tamagotchi customers, staying true to the franchise's tradition of charming character interactions and abundance. According to Bandai Namco, players can also link the game with the latest Tamagotchi Uni toy model to unlock exclusive in-game items and features, providing additional rewards for engaged fans.

This integration continues the series' longstanding dedication to blending real and virtual Tamagotchi experiences. Tamagotchi Plaza is scheduled for a global release on 27 June 2025, available both at retail and digitally via the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

With renewed focus on interactive shop mechanics and robust hardware support, Tamagotchi Plaza is poised to welcome a new era of Tamagotchi fans while paying homage to its celebrated legacy.
