Description

Bandai Namco has officially released Tamagotchi Plaza for both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch, delighting fans of the long-running Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series.

The latest installment arrives today on Nintendo’s eShop, bringing fresh gameplay enhancements, a variety of new shops, and the franchise’s first-ever offline two-player mode. Tamagotchi Plaza transports players to Tamahiko Town, a lively locale set on Tamagotchi Planet.

Staying true to the beloved shop simulation formula, players manage and grow a series of unique shops, including a dental clinic, eyewear boutique, and an afternoon tea shop, each offering distinct tasks like treating patients, crafting custom glasses, or preparing sweet treats to fulfill guest requests.

Shoppers and Tamagotchi visitors become regulars as players improve their shop reputations and ensure customer satisfaction. One of the standout features of the Nintendo Switch 2 version is the inclusion of three entirely new shops, complete with mouse control support.

This enhancement brings the total shop count to 15, offering more activities and customization opportunities than before.

Players are encouraged to boost their shops’ reputations, drawing in a diverse array of Tamagotchi guests and making Tamahiko Town more bustling than ever. For the first time in the history of the franchise, Tamagotchi Plaza introduces an offline two-player mode for select shops, allowing friends and family to collaborate in-person and enjoy shop management together.

This social gaming addition is expected to resonate with longtime fans seeking cooperative play and newcomers looking for unique local multiplayer experiences on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 platforms. In a statement reflecting on the new release, Bandai Namco emphasized the game's expanded interactivity.

"We wanted players to feel more connected with their Tamagotchi, not just by growing shops but by solving Tamagotchi problems and bringing the town to life through player actions," the company noted in its launch materials. Tamagotchi Plaza is available now for download on both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 via the Nintendo eShop.

The official launch trailer, released alongside the game, offers a glimpse of the various shops, activities, and the vibrant visuals that await players.

This release builds on the series’ legacy, delivering engaging simulation gameplay and new features designed for a modern audience.
