Today, Bandai Namco has officially announced Tamagotchi Plaza, the newest entry in its long-running Tamagotchi franchise, coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch on August 27, 2025.
Building on the success of the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series, this release marks the return of the beloved shop simulator gameplay that first captured players’ imaginations in the 2000s, now updated with modern features and robust Nintendo Switch functionality.
Shop Simulator Set in Tamahiko Town
Inspired by the iconic 90s virtual pets, Tamagotchi Plaza invites players to step into Tamahiko Town, where they will manage an array of 12 diverse shops situated in a lively plaza.
The game promises a rich experience, blending classic establishments such as the Dentist—a fan favorite from previous Corner Shop titles—with new venues like the Afternoon Tea Shop, Eyewear store, and a Galette bakery.
Each shop introduces its own mini games, encouraging players to hone their skills and deliver top service to a bustling Tamagotchi clientele.
Serving over 100 Tamagotchi characters, players’ success in mini games and customer service will grow their shops’ reputations, gradually transforming Tamahiko Town into an energetic setting ready to host the Great Tamagotchi Fest.
