Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that Tales of Xillia Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch, with development handled by DokiDoki GrooveWorks.

The original Tales of Xillia launched on PlayStation 3 in 2011; this remaster updates the action RPG for Nintendo’s hybrid console and will be available both at retail and digitally via the Nintendo eShop worldwide on 31 October 2025.

Tales of Xillia Remastered returns players to the world of Rieze Maxia, where humans and spirits live in a fragile balance.

The game lets players follow two protagonists: Milla Maxwell, a mysterious woman accompanied by four powerful spirits, and Jude Mathis, an aspiring medical student from the capital.

Their stories converge when they discover that the kingdom of Rashugal is using a mana-draining weapon, a threat that drives the narrative and motivates the pair’s quest to restore balance.

Bandai Namco has outlined several improvements and content inclusions for the Switch version.

In journalistic terms: the publisher says the remaster includes quality-of-life updates such as an auto-save feature, the option to toggle random encounters, and earlier access to the Grade Shop to streamline progression.

The company also confirmed that all DLC released with the original PS3 launch—costumes, bonus items and other extras—will be included in the remastered package.

Combat remains centered on the Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System, the series’ real-time action framework that emphasizes team coordination.

Players can link with allies to perform combo attacks and activate support skills to overwhelm foes, retaining the franchise’s signature blend of action and tactical choice.

Visually, DokiDoki GrooveWorks has refreshed character illustrations and animations to better suit modern hardware while preserving the original’s aesthetic.

The remaster lists improved graphics among its headline updates alongside the gameplay conveniences and bundled DLC.

Tales of Xillia Remastered’s 31 October 2025 release on Nintendo Switch positions the title as a high-profile return for fans who originally played the 2011 PS3 release and for newcomers discovering Rieze Maxia on Nintendo’s platform.

This announcement follows Bandai Namco’s ongoing support for bringing classic Tales entries to contemporary consoles and digital storefronts such as the Nintendo eShop.
