Tales of Xillia Remastered Release Date Set for Switch as Bandai Namco Confirms Multiple Projects in Development

Bandai Namco is continuing its commitment to revisiting classic RPGs with a significant update for fans of the Tales Of series.

The company has officially announced that Tales of Xillia Remastered will be launching on Nintendo Switch, bringing the celebrated PlayStation 3 title to a new audience.

The release is scheduled for 31st October 2025, marking the franchise’s formal entry onto Nintendo’s current-generation hardware. The Tales Of series, known for its dynamic battle systems and rich narratives, has seen multiple successful remasters in recent years.

Now, with Tales of Xillia set to join the Nintendo Switch lineup, the anticipation for Bandai Namco’s JRPG offerings continues to grow.

This remaster will offer both veterans and newcomers a chance to experience one of the series' most acclaimed entries, optimized for the Switch’s portable and home console hybrid capabilities. In a recent interview with Famitsu, series director Yusuke Tomizawa discussed the company’s approach to future remasters.

"We are taking an approach where we announce and release titles as they are ready.

For Tales of Xillia 2 Remastered, development is ongoing, which is why it has not been officially announced at this time.

We aim to provide updates as quickly as possible," Tomizawa stated, as translated via Gematsu.

This statement clarifies the status of the highly requested sequel, assuring that Bandai Namco is prioritizing efficient communication and swift releases for its fans. Tomizawa further elaborated on the broader roadmap for the series: "The pace of our releases depends on each game’s planning and development status—we may move faster or slower based on those factors.

Regardless, we are striving to deliver as many titles as possible to our fans, as quickly as possible." Notably, the director confirmed there are more than two titles in active development, emphasizing the scale of Bandai Namco's commitment to the franchise. While details on the next remastered addition to the Tales Of lineup remain under wraps, Tomizawa assured fans that a formal announcement is planned for the near future.
