Bandai Namco has released the launch trailer for Tales of Eternia Remastered, giving Western audiences their first official access to a classic that originally appeared only in Japan.

The remaster updates the long-running Tales franchise entry for modern platforms, with the publisher positioning this as the first time Tales of Eternia has been remastered for contemporary systems.

According to Bandai Namco’s overview, the game returns players to Eternia, a world split into two isolated realms known as Inferia and Celestia.

In the remote Inferian village of Rasheans, protagonists Reid Hershel and his childhood friend Farah Oersted encounter a mysterious girl named Meredy; the traveling party soon learns that a cataclysmic event called the “Great Fall” threatens both realms.

The remaster’s narrative remains centered on the cast’s quest to discover Meredy’s origins and prevent the disaster that could annihilate both sides of the world.

Bandai Namco has highlighted the game’s core combat system in promotional materials.

The remaster retains the series’ Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System (A-LMBS), which the publisher notes enables varied Arte usage, extended combo chains, and coordinated tactics between unique party members.

The company frames the battles as fast-paced, dynamic 2D action in which players outmaneuver and defeat foes through fluid combos and party coordination.

The remaster also introduces a suite of modern quality-of-life options.

Bandai Namco reports that players can now use destination markers, toggle enemy encounters off, and enable high-speed mode during auto-battle — changes designed to streamline exploration and grinding.

In addition, the remaster offers switches between graphical and sound modes so players can choose a presentation closer to the original release or a modernized aesthetic.

Bandai Namco attached the official launch trailer to its announcement, and the remaster is positioned for release across current platforms, including Nintendo Switch with availability on the Nintendo eShop.

While the release is largely digital, the publisher has also provided information regarding a physical edition for collectors.

Tales of Eternia Remastered represents Bandai Namco’s effort to preserve and modernize a notable entry in the Tales catalogue, pairing the franchise’s signature A-LMBS combat with contemporary accessibility features.

Fans of classic JRPGs and series followers can find the title on modern storefronts and consult Bandai Namco’s official channels for the trailer and purchase details.
