Bandai Namco rolled out the latest Tales of Eternia Remastered character trailer today, putting the spotlight on Chat as the remaster approaches its October 15, 2026 release for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
The new footage adds character context to an updated release that preserves the original's 2D action while introducing modern conveniences for contemporary players.
In the trailer and accompanying materials, Bandai Namco presents Chat as the great-granddaughter of Celestia’s renowned pirate Aifread.
The publisher notes that although Chat attempts to act mature, her speech and behavior often reveal a more immature side.
The trailer also highlights her association with the advanced ship Van Eltia, which she uses to assist Reid Hershel and the party during their journey.
Tales of Eternia Remastered retells the classic story of two worlds, Inferia and Celestia, separated until a catastrophic event known as the “Great Fall” threatens both realms.
Players will again follow Reid Hershel and his childhood friend Farah Oersted as they meet the enigmatic Meredy and uncover the stakes tied to elemental spirits called Greater Craymels.
These narrative beats are central to the original title and remain focal points in the remastered edition.
On the gameplay side, the remaster retains the series’ Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System (A-LMBS), enabling varied Artes, continuous combos, and party-coordinated actions in fast-paced 2D combat.
Bandai Namco says the remaster includes several quality-of-life improvements designed to streamline exploration and progression, including destination markers, an option to disable random enemy encounters, and a high-speed mode for auto battles.
Players can also toggle graphics and sound modes to switch between updated presentation and the nostalgic look and feel of the original release.
