Tales of Berseria Remastered Showcases Eizen in New Nintendo Switch Character Trailer

Bandai Namco has released the latest character trailer for Tales of Berseria Remastered, this time putting the spotlight on Eizen, a fan-favorite figure in the series.

The trailer, revealed today, provides Nintendo Switch fans with an in-depth look at Eizen, also known as the "Reaper." Eizen is depicted as a Malak—spiritual beings in the Tales universe—who defies expectations by joining forces with humans.

His unwavering loyalty and unique demeanor have earned him the trust of pirates, and he currently serves as first mate aboard the Van Eltia, captained by Aifread. Tales of Berseria Remastered, set to launch for Nintendo Switch on February 27, 2026, marks the franchise's highly anticipated return, complete with a suite of visual and playability improvements.

Players will step into the shoes of Velvet Crowe, a protagonist driven by personal loss and betrayal, as she embarks on a journey through the kingdom of Midgand.

Alongside Velvet is a colorful cast of characters, each adding depth and diversity to the gameplay experience—including Eizen, renowned for his complex characterization and pivotal role. In an official release, Bandai Namco described Eizen as the "Reaper"—a Malak known for his somber yet dependable nature.

Despite his supernatural origins, Eizen has managed to bridge the gap between Malaks and humans, earning a respected place among Aifread's pirate crew.

His actions continue to inspire loyalty among his companions, setting him apart as a central figure in Velvet's quest. Tales of Berseria Remastered brings an array of enhancements to the original 2016 release.

The remaster introduces user-friendly quality-of-life features such as destination markers and toggleable enemy encounters, streamlining exploration throughout the Midgand archipelago.

The Grade Shop, familiar to series veterans, makes a return, offering players various customization options for deeper gameplay. The remaster also incorporates downloadable content from previous iterations, including character costumes and useful equipment.

Fans of the series will appreciate the inclusion of cosmetic items inspired by earlier Tales titles, providing even greater personalization for their party members. Combat in Tales of Berseria Remastered remains a highlight, allowing players to freely assign Artes to suit individual strategies and execute fluid combos.

The system encourages collecting enemy Souls to trigger a variety of powerful attacks, delivering a thrilling battle experience tailored to diverse playstyles. With its launch on Nintendo Switch, Tales of Berseria Remastered will be accessible to a new generation of players while welcoming back longtime enthusiasts.

The game will be available via Nintendo eShop and at retail, further expanding Bandai Namco’s celebrated JRPG legacy on the platform. Besides Eizen, Bandai Namco has also released character trailers for Velvet Crowe, Laphicet, Rokuro, and Magilou, underscoring the rich ensemble that defines the game's narrative.

With its enhanced presentation and accessibility improvements, Tales of Berseria Remastered aims to deliver an unforgettable adventure when it sets sail on Nintendo Switch early next year.
