Description

Nintendo has officially released two new trailers in Japan, offering Splatoon 3 fans their first in-depth look at the latest amiibo figures ahead of the upcoming global launch.

These amiibo, featuring the fan-favorite idol groups 'Squid Sisters' (Callie and Marie) and 'Off the Hook' (Marina and Pearl), are set to hit shelves on September 5, 2024.

The figures are now available for pre-order through the My Nintendo Store in the UK, Ireland, and Japan, priced at 4,400 yen (approximately $28 USD). The latest Splatoon 3 amiibo will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch, further enhancing the celebrated third-person shooter’s distinctive customization and multiplayer options.

The new trailers, released on Nintendo’s official Japanese channels, showcase the amiibo in action, demonstrating their functionality and the exclusive in-game gear they unlock.

Players can expect unique outfits and content tied specifically to these idol characters, deepening their immersion in the Splatoon universe. According to Nintendo's official statement, these amiibo will be available globally on the same date, aligning release windows across Japan, the UK, Europe, and America.

The move ensures that Splatoon 3 fans worldwide can access the new figures simultaneously, a practice in keeping with Nintendo’s efforts to deliver major product launches across key territories. The announcement of the new amiibo comes as part of Splatoon 3’s anticipated 'Grand Festival' event, scheduled to begin on September 13, 2024.

The Grand Festival promises a special 72-hour in-game event where players must choose and rally behind teams representing the past, present, or future.

To celebrate, Nintendo is also rolling out themed merchandise, including t-shirts and wristbands, available for a limited time.

This festival serves as a major content update for the ever-expanding Splatoon 3 community. Splatoon 3 has continued to see robust support from Nintendo since its launch on the Nintendo Switch, with consistent updates, new Splatfest events, and fresh content for the dedicated fanbase.

The addition of new amiibo not only drives further engagement but also reinforces Nintendo’s strategy of combining collectible figures with digital experiences on the eShop and beyond. For those interested, the new amiibo can be pre-ordered now from official My Nintendo Store outlets in supported regions.

As always, purchases made through affiliate links may result in a small commission for the retailer, as disclosed by Nintendo. With the global launch slated for September 5 and the Grand Festival right around the corner, Splatoon 3 players and amiibo collectors have plenty to anticipate in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned for further coverage as Nintendo continues to expand one of its most vibrant modern franchises.
