Nintendo fans have reason to celebrate as Steve and Alex from Minecraft have been officially announced as the latest downloadable content (DLC) fighters for Super Smash Bros.
Ultimate.
This major addition marks a significant collaboration between two of the gaming industry’s biggest names, Mojang Studios—the creators of Minecraft—and Nintendo, the developer and publisher behind Super Smash Bros.

On October 1st, 2020, Nintendo unveiled Steve and Alex as new playable characters during a live-streamed Nintendo Direct presentation.
To provide further insight into how these iconic Minecraft characters will be integrated, series director Masahiro Sakurai will host a special in-depth video titled “Mr.
Sakurai Presents ‘Steve & Alex’.” This highly anticipated demonstration is scheduled to air on Saturday, October 3rd at 7:30 a.m.
Pacific Time, just ahead of the official Minecraft Live digital event.
The upcoming “Mr.
Sakurai Presents” video will be similar in format to previous showcases for Super Smash Bros.
Ultimate DLC fighters.
In these presentations, Sakurai offers viewers a comprehensive look at each newcomer’s unique moveset, their associated home stage, and accompanying music tracks.
Additionally, Sakurai often delves into the characters’ histories, providing context about their origins and legacy within their original franchises.

Since its launch in December 2018, Super Smash Bros.
