Super Mario Run Launches Princess Peach: Showtime! Event with Special Missions and Rewards

Nintendo has unveiled a special timed event in Super Mario Run, its popular mobile platformer, celebrating the recent release of Princess Peach: Showtime! for Nintendo Switch.

The event, which began following the Version 3.2.0 update to Super Mario Run, introduces a suite of new missions inspired by Peach’s various transformations in the acclaimed Switch title.

Players can participate in these themed challenges through May 7, 2024, and earn unique in-game rewards for their accomplishments. Super Mario Run's Princess Peach: Showtime! collaboration mirrors Nintendo's ongoing strategy of linking its top franchises across platforms to engage a wide audience.

Last year's successful partnership with Super Mario Bros.

Wonder provided players with creative crossover content, and this latest event builds on that momentum.

To mark the launch of Princess Peach: Showtime! on the Nintendo Switch, players can tackle a series of challenges in Super Mario Run.

Upon completing these special missions, participants unlock exclusive decorations celebrating Princess Peach’s new adventure: - Complete three missions to earn the Patissiere Peach Statue - Finish six missions to collect the Swordfighter Peach Statue - Conquer all nine missions to receive the Peach & Stella Statue Every reward offers fans a way to display their achievements in-game, emphasizing the significance of Peach’s role in both the platformer and her own recent title.

All three statues are available to earn through the event’s conclusion on May 7, 2024. In addition to the event, Nintendo has also adjusted the price of Super Mario Run in select markets, making the game more accessible to new players.

As of the update, Super Mario Run is now available for a reduced price in regions such as Europe and Japan, where it retails for 11.99€ and 1,200 Yen respectively.

This move reflects Nintendo’s continuing efforts to expand their mobile gaming audience and incentivize both new downloads and player engagement. Super Mario Run, originally released for mobile platforms in 2016, marked Nintendo’s first foray into smartphone gaming.
