Capcom has revitalized the fighting game arena with new content for Street Fighter 6, releasing the much-anticipated Sagat gameplay trailer.

As anticipation grows for the next lineup of downloadable content, the trailer showcases Sagat's distinctive moveset and introduces a brand-new themed stage, building momentum for his official arrival on August 5, 2025.

The update signals a significant step in the expansive Year 3 Character Pass, available for PlayStation, Xbox, and the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Street Fighter 6, a flagship title from Capcom, has established itself as a top-tier fighting game since its initial release, continuously engaging players with robust character additions and collaborations.

The newly launched Sagat trailer offers a detailed look at both his classic fighting style and the unique environment of the Proud Spire stage, both of which will be accessible to Season Pass holders upon release. A Capcom representative confirmed, "Those who own the Year 3 Character or Ultimate Pass will automatically gain access to Sagat and the Proud Spire stage as soon as they debut.

The Year 3 Character Pass, which comprises Sagat, C.

Viper, Alex, and Ingrid, also provides exclusive costume colors (Outfit 1, Colors 3–10) and 3000 Drive Tickets.

Additionally, the Ultimate Pass includes further customization options, an extra stage, Outfit 2 and 3 colors, and a total of 5800 Drive Tickets.

All content will be gradually unlocked according to the character release schedule throughout the upcoming year." Capcom has opened pre-orders for both the Year 3 Character Pass and Year 3 Ultimate Pass on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop, with availability running until August 4, 2025.

Those who purchase will see new content unlock in sync with scheduled character launches starting August 5, 2025, ensuring a stream of fresh experiences for players. In related news, Capcom recently rolled out the "Sagat Arrives" Fighting Pass, which delivers premium in-game rewards including exclusive EX Colors for Ryu and Ken, additional titles, music tracks, avatar gear, challenger screen illustrations, and even the classic Capcom arcade game 'Tiger Road.' There are also free rewards available for the wider player community.

This complements the recent announcement of a Street Fighter 6 collaboration with K-pop group Aespa, underscoring Capcom's commitment to keeping the franchise vibrant and relevant through innovative partnerships and content updates. With Sagat's debut set for August and a robust character pipeline for Year 3, Street Fighter 6 continues to set the benchmark in the genre.

Players can look forward to an evolving roster and a deeper online experience, now extending to new hardware platforms like the Switch 2, further cementing Street Fighter's legacy as a fighting game staple.
