Description

Street Fighter 6, Capcom’s hit fighting game, made a highly anticipated debut on Nintendo Switch 2 at the console’s launch, offering fans not only the full game experience but also unique features exclusive to Nintendo’s latest hardware.

Most notably, this version introduced dedicated amiibo support, allowing players to interact with physical Street Fighter character figures and a new series of collectible cards designed specifically for Street Fighter 6. Building on this functionality, Capcom has announced a substantial expansion to the Street Fighter 6 amiibo card lineup.

Japanese retailers have begun to list a new wave of amiibo cards, featuring prominent characters such as Terry, Mai, and Elena, as well as popular fighters Sagat, C.

Viper, Ingrid, and Alex.

This update is timely, as Sagat was only recently introduced as a playable character, and C.

Viper’s entry was teased in a recent trailer.

Interestingly, Ingrid and Alex have not yet appeared in-game with 3D models, but their amiibo cards will be available prior to their official release within Street Fighter 6, offering fans a glimpse of these future roster additions. These amiibo cards are designed to enhance the Street Fighter 6 experience on Nintendo Switch 2 by unlocking in-game bonuses, customization features, and interactive elements linked directly to the characters depicted.

Capcom’s decision to extend amiibo functionality aligns with their ongoing support for the Switch platform through regular downloadable content and community events. The upcoming set will include a total of 38 new cards, completing the collection for all fighters introduced across the game’s first three years.

While all characters receive representation, the original roster will gain just a single new card each—a complement to their cards already available at launch.

For collectors, Japanese releases of these card packs will feature assortments of 15 distinct character cards per pack, encouraging the purchase of multiple packs to assemble the entire range. As of this writing, Capcom has not specified an exact release date for this new amiibo card set.

However, the company’s commitment to expanding the Street Fighter 6 universe on the Nintendo Switch 2 is clear, supporting both new and returning players with content that bridges the gap between physical collectibles and digital gameplay.

With additional DLC fighters like C.

Viper on the horizon and pre-release cards for Ingrid and Alex, fans can look forward to a continually evolving roster and new ways to engage with one of the most acclaimed fighting games of the current generation. Street Fighter 6’s ongoing success on Nintendo Switch 2 demonstrates both Capcom’s and Nintendo’s dedication to innovation and fan service, solidifying the franchise’s reputation as a flagship title across multiple platforms and generations.
