Iceberg Interactive and Bad Viking have officially announced that Strange Antiquities, the much-anticipated sequel to the acclaimed Strange Horticulture, is set to launch digitally for Nintendo Switch on 17 September 2025 via the Nintendo eShop.
Building upon the cult following of its predecessor, Strange Antiquities introduces players to a shadowy world of occult artifacts and enigmatic mysteries, with expanded gameplay tailored for the Nintendo Switch audience.
Set once again in the eerie town of Undermere, Strange Antiquities places players in the role of a shopkeeper specializing in supernatural relics and forbidden curiosities.
This follow-up from developer Bad Viking invites players to not only manage the daily operations of a candle-lit antiquities shop but also to interact with a cast of unique townsfolk whose requests range from the bizarre to the unsettling.
According to information shared by Iceberg Interactive, every day in Strange Antiquities brings new customers, each with unpredictable, and sometimes alarming, needs.
Players will be challenged to examine, identify, and catalogue a wide array of mysterious artifacts.
Success relies heavily on the ability to observe, deduce, and consult a meticulously illustrated library of reference books.
Errors in cataloguing or item selection can have costly consequences for both the player and the townspeople.
Morality also plays a central role; as the shopkeeper, players have the option to genuinely assist Undermere’s residents with their unusual predicaments or, conversely, use powerful items to inflict curses.
The choices made are remembered by the small town’s inhabitants, influencing relationships and future outcomes throughout the game.
Beyond shopkeeping, exploration remains a key feature.
Occasionally, players will leave the safety of their shop to investigate rumors, retrieve rare artifacts, or uncover hidden secrets.
Navigation is guided by hand-drawn maps, immersing players even further in Undermere’s mysterious atmosphere.
Puzzles are woven into daily routines, with the shop and its history holding numerous secrets for the attentive player to reveal.
Adding a charming touch to the occult setting, Jupiter — the shop’s resident feline — expects daily affection, offering companionship amid the game’s dark ambiance.
Strange Antiquities will be available worldwide as a digital download exclusively on the Nintendo Switch eShop starting 17 September 2025.
The release marks another success for Iceberg Interactive and Bad Viking, both recognized for their creative approaches to narrative-driven adventure games.
Stay tuned for future Nintendo Direct presentations and further updates on Strange Antiquities, as well as detailed gameplay previews prior to its highly anticipated Nintendo Switch debut.
