Star Fox Remake Overview Trailer Reveals Switch Features Ahead of June 25, 2026 Release

Nintendo has published an overview trailer for the Star Fox remake, offering a detailed look at gameplay systems and features ahead of the game's release on Nintendo Switch on June 25, 2026.

The remake reimagines the Lylat System and the classic cast—Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Slippy Toad and Peppy Hare—after the evil scientist Andross throws the galaxy into chaos.

The trailer underscores a complete visual overhaul of the game's stages and reintroduces multiple play modes.

Campaign Mode sends players across the Lylat System on mission-based runs with branching paths that encourage replays to uncover the full story.

Campaign can be played cooperatively: one player assumes the role of Pilot while a second player fills the Gunner position, and both local co-op and online play are supported via GameShare.

Nintendo’s overview also highlights control and accessibility options, including Mouse-Controlled Targeting when using the Joy-Con 2 controller to enable more intuitive aiming.

Challenge Mode returns as a replay-friendly option, presenting a variety of objectives and new challenges for players who want to revisit cleared stages.

For competitive play, Battle Mode supports four-versus-four aerial combat online across three distinct stages.

Nintendo confirmed that if a single player owns the game, up to four players can still participate locally in Battle Mode using GameShare, while online play also supports GameShare through GameChat.

The overview trailer also notes a novelty for GameChat users: with a compatible USB camera, players can appear as an interactive avatar of Fox McCloud or other characters that mirrors facial expressions and movement.

Complementing the gameplay reveal, Nintendo has added a special release of 10 tracks from Star Fox to Nintendo Music.

Those tracks are available across a range of devices and can be enjoyed via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Nintendo Music’s new My Mix feature can generate playlists based on play history, making it easier for fans to build a soundtrack for their sessions.

With less than a month until launch, Nintendo’s overview trailer provides a clear picture of how the Star Fox remake aims to balance nostalgia and modern features on Nintendo Switch.

Readers can view the trailer through Nintendo’s official channels and prepare for the June 25, 2026 release.
