Nintendo has officially announced the highly anticipated 2025 Summer Nights Splatfest event for Splatoon 3, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.
Set to ignite the Splatlands from July 12th through July 14th, this new event invites players to engage in a spirited competition centered around the ultimate travel debate: Land, Sea, or Air.
Fans of the series can look forward to another immersive Splatfest where Inklings and Octolings choose their preferred mode of transportation and battle it out for supremacy.
Splatoon 3, developed and published by Nintendo, continues its robust post-launch support with special events like Splatfest, which have become a staple of the franchise since its debut.
These themed festivals unite the game's active community, offering unique matches and rewards based on player choices.
For the 2025 Summer Nights Splatfest, Splatoon 3 players can select between Team Land, Team Sea, or Team Air, representing their favorite way to travel.
The event will go live globally on the Nintendo Switch eShop, and is accessible to all Splatoon 3 owners.
Announcing the event, Nintendo UK highlighted the travel-based theme, inviting players to 'plot a course for Summer Nights, arriving in the Splatlands on July 12th.' The announcement confirms that the Splatfest will run for three days, giving the community ample opportunity to participate and represent their chosen team in Turf War battles.
Adding even more excitement, Nintendo revealed that fan-favorite gear from Splatoon 2 will be making a return for this year's festivities.
Players can claim exclusive, free in-game items inspired by Splatoon 2 directly through the "Squid Research Lab Bulletin (Splatoon 3)" news channel on their Nintendo Switch consoles.
This move aims to celebrate the series' legacy by offering both longtime fans and newcomers the chance to customize their Inklings and Octolings with vintage looks.
Splatoon 3, released for Nintendo Switch in September 2022, has maintained a robust player base and regularly receives fresh content through free updates and seasonal events.
Its Splatfest competitions have played a crucial role in sustaining player interest, fostering community engagement, and driving continued sales of the title on the Nintendo eShop.
With the Summer Nights Splatfest on the horizon, Nintendo reinforces its commitment to ongoing support for Splatoon 3 and celebrates the Splatoon community's creativity and enthusiasm.
Fans can gear up, choose their team, and join the competition when the event kicks off on July 12th, 2025.
