Mega Man DLC Officially Announced for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on Nintendo Switch

SEGA has officially confirmed a highly anticipated crossover expansion for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

The Mega Man DLC brings the legendary Blue Bomber and his universe to the arcade racing title, which launches for Nintendo Switch on June 21, 2024.

This announcement marks another milestone in SEGA’s ongoing strategy of infusing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds with exciting collaborations that amplify its appeal among fans of classic video game franchises. The Mega Man DLC was unveiled mere days before Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds’ debut on the Nintendo eShop.

While SEGA has not disclosed an exact release date for the new content, the company has assured players that it will arrive as a post-launch update.

Notably, the add-on's centerpiece is the playable Mega Man, but fans can also look forward to racing as Proto Man, another iconic character from Capcom’s celebrated series.

Other announced crossovers include content inspired by Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, Pac-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and Avatar Legends, establishing the game as a vibrant platform for pop culture.

The launch for Nintendo Switch is set for June 21, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version confirmed to follow, ensuring continued support on Nintendo’s evolving hardware lineup. A SEGA spokesperson described the collaboration as "a celebration of video game history, bringing together classic characters and worlds to create new experiences for players on Switch and beyond."
