SEGA has announced a trio of free DLC characters and a nine-track music update for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The publisher confirmed release windows for each new racer and detailed additions to the in-game jukebox, providing a clear schedule for players and content watchers.
The announced free DLC racers and release timing are as follows:
- Classic Sonic — available June 23, 2026. Classic Sonic is being added as a playable character and comes with an exclusive vehicle called the Mach Cyclone.
- Axel — arriving in August 2026. Axel from the Crazy Taxi series will be playable and will include an exclusive vehicle.
- Amigo — arriving in September 2026. Amigo from the Samba de Amigo series will be playable and will include an exclusive vehicle.
SEGA said the update will also add nine new songs to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds’ jukebox, expanding the game’s soundtrack with tracks drawn from a range of SEGA franchises and composers. The added tracks and credits included in the announcement are:
- "Looting the Louvre" by Naofumi Hataya (from Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure)
- "Theme of Phantom R" by Tomoya Ohtani (from Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure)
- "Akadoko" by Naofumi Hataya (from Akadoko & Kimishine Ai no Densetsu CD)
- "Orpheus in the Underworld" by Naofumi Hataya (from Akadoko & Kimishine Ai no Densetsu CD)
- "Kimishine" by Naofumi Hataya (from Akadoko & Kimishine Ai no Densetsu CD)
- "Speed Is My Life" by Jun Senoue and Nathan Sharp (from the Sonic the Hedgehog 35th anniversary)
- "space channel 5: getting the truth" by Kenichi Tokoi (from Space Channel 5)
- "Go! Go! Cheerleader!" by SEGA Sound Team (from Space Channel 5)
- "Burning Hearts" by Naofumi Hataya and Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (from Burning Rangers)
