Jersey Jack Pinball and Sega have officially announced a licensed Sonic the Hedgehog pinball table to mark the character’s 35th anniversary.
The machine — developed by Jersey Jack with veteran designer Steve Ritchie at the helm — is being offered in three configurations and starts at $9,999 for the base model.
The new Sonic the Hedgehog Pinball is built on Jersey Jack’s in-house platform, which the company describes as an award-winning system powering advanced visual and audio features.
The table includes a 27-inch HD LCD display, JJP immersive RGB lighting, micro-LED gold ring displays, onboard Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth audio with support for pairing noise‑cancelling headphones or external speakers, and a high-score player camera.
Steve Ritchie, the lead designer on the project, is a long-established figure in pinball design with more than 40 years of experience.
He is widely recognized for his pacing and playfield design and has been called “The King of Flow” by industry commentators for his work on legacy tables such as Firepower, Black Knight, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and The Getaway: High Speed II.
Jersey Jack also notes Ritchie’s involvement in broader pop-culture projects, crediting him with voice work on Mortal Kombat II, including the famous "Finish Him!" line.
