Celebrated indie studio Simogo marked its 15th anniversary with a series of major announcements set to thrill Nintendo Switch fans and the broader gaming community.
Best known for their innovative and genre-defying titles, the Swedish developer is expanding its reach to new hardware and compiling its history into a definitive package, solidifying its legacy as one of the most inventive voices in the indie scene.
First among the reveals are Nintendo Switch 2 Editions for Simogo’s critically acclaimed titles, Lorelei and the Laser Eyes and Sayonara Wild Hearts.
Both games, already highly regarded on the original Switch, will arrive with enhanced visuals and improved frame rates, taking advantage of the upgraded hardware.
These Switch 2 versions are scheduled for release in early 2025, though details regarding potential upgrade options for existing owners have not yet been disclosed.
Simogo’s continued partnership with Nintendo demonstrates the studio’s commitment to bringing their unique design sensibilities to a wider audience, ensuring both newcomers and long-time fans can experience these groundbreaking games at their best.
In a statement reflecting the milestone, Simogo highlighted their excitement to celebrate with the community, unveiling not only these updated editions but also the upcoming Simogo Legacy Collection.
Launching December 2, 2025, the Simogo Legacy Collection will be available on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, offering gamers the chance to experience the studio’s first seven acclaimed releases in one comprehensive package.
The collection includes:
- Kosmo Spin (2010)
- Bumpy Road (2011)
- Beat Sneak Bandit (2012)
- Year Walk (2013)
- DEVICE 6 (2013)
- The Sailor’s Dream (2014)
- SPL-T (2015)
Each title, originally released on iOS, represents a landmark in experimental game design.
While a handful saw prior console adaptations, most will make their Nintendo console debut through this anthology.
The Legacy Collection goes beyond just games, featuring a wealth of bonus material as confirmed by Simogo and reported by Gematsu, including an E-book, audio drama podcast, previously unreleased music and artwork, and several rare playable prototypes.
Simogo is further commemorating this anniversary through a collaboration with publisher Lost in Cult.
The result is “Heartbeats, Dreams and Laser Eyes: 15 Years of Simogo,” an in-depth collectible book chronicling the studio’s journey, creative philosophy, and lasting impact on the game industry.
Contributions from respected writers Holly Nielsen, Christian Donlan, Nadia Oxford, and Aaron Riccio promise deep dives into Simogo’s portfolio.
The Deluxe Edition, offered at £69.99 and limited to the first 300 signed copies, provides collectors and fans an exclusive look at Simogo’s artistic heritage, while a standard edition will be available at a lower price point.
With every Simogo game soon available across both Switch platforms and a commemorative book cementing their legacy, 2025 is shaping up as a landmark year for the developer and their fans.
Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 owners can look forward to exploring the breadth of Simogo’s imaginative catalog, which stands as a testament to bold creativity in independent game development.
