Sega Shop Europe has confirmed it will stock four vinyl albums featuring music from the arcade classics House of the Dead, House of the Dead 2 and Virtua Fighter, with availability scheduled for July 2023.
The announcement spotlights physical soundtrack releases for titles that helped define late-90s arcade gaming and remain important to collectors of retro game memorabilia.
House of the Dead first appeared in arcades in 1996 and was developed by Sega AM1; its 1998 follow-up, House of the Dead 2, continued the light-gun shooter formula and also originated in arcades under Sega AM1.
Virtua Fighter, developed by Yu Suzuki and Sega AM2, launched in arcades in 1993 and is widely cited as a pioneering 3D fighting game that established a long-running series.
These franchises have enduring legacies among arcade and collector communities, which helps explain demand for physical soundtrack releases.
Sega Shop Europe's listing indicates four separate vinyl releases covering the soundtracks from those arcade titles, all set to be available in July 2023.
The store's update presents these albums as a targeted offering for collectors and fans of classic Sega audio.
In journalistic terms: the announcement was greeted as a welcome move for retro collectors and fans of arcade-era composition, reaffirming the musical legacy of Sega's arcade output.
Industry context: Sega has a long history of reissuing and celebrating its back catalog across formats.
While collectors will be able to purchase vinyl through Sega Shop Europe, many players discover or revisit classic Sega titles via modern platforms.
Nintendo Switch has hosted a number of Sega compilations and retro releases available through the Nintendo eShop, and retro announcements have occasionally featured in Nintendo Direct presentations.
Those looking for digital access to older titles can check platform storefronts for current availability.
The July 2023 availability offers a concrete date for collectors to watch.
Sega's official retail arm is handling distribution for these vinyl editions; prospective buyers should check Sega Shop Europe for product pages, pricing, and shipping details.
For fans of arcade soundtracks and physical media, these releases underscore how Sega's 1990s arcade designs continue to attract attention from both gamers and collectors alike.
