SEGA returned to PAX Aus 2026 with a prominent booth next to the main entrance, directly adjacent to Nintendo’s space, showcasing several upcoming titles with playable demos.

The publisher presented large play areas for Alien Isolation 2, Persona 4 Revival and Stranger Than Heaven, giving attendees an early look at projects spanning horror, JRPG remakes and historical action-adventure brawling.

Alien Isolation 2 — tense, atmospheric horror demo

SEGA confirmed Alien Isolation 2 during 2024, and the franchise’s first trailer arrived earlier in 2026 as part of Summer Games Fest.

At PAX Aus the title ran a 30-minute playable demo that drew long queues across the weekend.

Because each session ran for half an hour and groups were admitted in blocks of 12 players, a line of 48 people equated to roughly a two-hour wait at peak times.

The demo is presented from a first-person perspective.

Players control Blake, a Weyland-Yutani corporate manager, who, along with companions Otto and Cole, investigates a crashed vessel on the rain-soaked planet LV-921.

The ship is without power, and the playable section emphasizes restoration tasks, narrow corridors and stealth.

After early investigative beats — including a jump scare from a damaged android — a xenomorph appears and forces a stealthy retrace through the vessel.

The reporter did not survive that encounter.

Alien Isolation 2 has been confirmed for Switch 2; the title currently has no public release date.

Persona 4 Revival — remake demo highlights story and combat

Persona 4 Revival is presented as a full remake of the 2023 Persona 4 Golden, itself an enhanced version of the 2008 original.

The PAX demo offered two options: a story-driven sequence or a combat-focused showcase.

The story demo covered the opening TV World sequence where Yu, Yosuke and Teddie search for their missing classmate Yukiko in a fog-shrouded reflection of Inaba’s Central Shopping District.

The session featured full voice work, updated visuals and an introduction to Persona awakening and the new Guard Action mechanic, which lets players block and stun foes for tactical advantage.

Persona 4 Revival is scheduled to release on other consoles on Feb 18, 2027 and on Switch 2 on 20 May, 2027.

Stranger Than Heaven — Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio tackles a period brawler

Stranger Than Heaven is developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the team best known for the Yakuza series, and serves as a distant prequel to that universe.

The demo at PAX Aus took place in 1915 Fukuoka, following Makoto Daito — a Japanese-American orphan who stows away from San Francisco — as he confronts street gangs in an industrial town.

SEGA’s booth design for the demo recreated a period Japanese nightclub to enhance immersion.

Combat in the demo emphasized directional control and visceral finishing moves; the full game spans five distinct eras and concludes in Shinjuku in 1965.

Stranger Than Heaven is scheduled for release on 15 January 2027.

No Switch 2 version has been confirmed by SEGA at this time.

Additional notes

Total War: Warhammer 40,000 was also present at SEGA’s PAX Aus booth; this reporter did not play that title.
