The event adapts Capcom’s long-running Resident Evil franchise into an interactive, walk-through experience built around six themed zones that place guests in the midst of a T‑Virus outbreak in Raccoon City.
The takeover is organized into six sequential areas.
“Arrival” opens the experience with a damaged “Welcome to Raccoon City” sign and flashing emergency lights that set the tone for the outbreak.
“Mission” directs participants to the Raccoon Police Department (RPD) where visitors confront interactive puzzles.
The quarantined “Infection” zone immerses guests in a city overrun by the undead.
“Combat” brings established series protagonists Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine and Leon S.
Kennedy into direct encounters with enemies, and provides opportunities for photos and character interaction after staged confrontations.
The final corridors, “Escape” and “Aftermath,” close the scenario and extend the narrative beyond initial survival.
After completing the walk-through, guests are led to the Umbrella Underground Laboratory dining area.
Universal’s Discover blog lists a Resident Evil–themed menu served under clinical lighting and faux lab equipment: the “Jill Sandwich” (brioche with hickory smoked bacon, bibb lettuce, tomato chutney, avocado mousse and black garlic aioli), “The Sewer Special” (beer-battered cod and Cajun fries), “Brain Freeze” dessert (ube gelato with mango gelée and chocolate feuilletine served in a souvenir beaker), and a themed cocktail called “The Umbrella.” Food items are presented on medical-style trays to reinforce the atmosphere.
Universal’s entertainment director Del Wynegar and producer Kevin Katan confirmed additional interactive elements in a Discover Universal interview, including the appearance of iconic enemies such as Chainsaw Man and Nemesis.
Guests are given faction roles — RPD, STARS or BSAA — on entry, and repeat attendees can opt for different faction assignments to experience alternate mission variations and encounter different heroes in the combat zone.
Katan explained that the production team designed small rewards and layered interactions — from collectible clues to secret codes that can be shared with bartenders to unlock hidden menu items or retail offers — to make every participant feel involved in the story.
Admission to the Resident Evil Takeover is included with Universal Horror Unleashed tickets, which are sold in three tiers priced between $29 and $89.
During the takeover period, the attraction’s four regular haunted houses will continue to operate as scheduled.
The Resident Evil franchise, developed by Capcom, has a multi-decade history and has appeared across virtually every major gaming platform, including releases and ports on systems such as the Nintendo Switch.
This Las Vegas event represents a continuation of the brand’s reach beyond games into immersive themed entertainment.
