Auroch Digital and poncle Bring Warhammer Survivors to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch
Auroch Digital has confirmed that Warhammer Survivors, a fast-paced roguelite “survivors” game developed in partnership with Games Workshop and poncle (the creator of Vampire Survivors), is in development for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
The developer says the title will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop worldwide in 2026.
Background and development
Warhammer Survivors blends the pick-up-and-play loop of modern survivors roguelites with the IP and weaponry of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.
Auroch Digital is building the project in collaboration with poncle, who is best known as the creator of Vampire Survivors.
The project aims to translate hectic, arcade-style combat to Nintendo’s current and next-generation handheld-home hybrid hardware.
Gameplay and features
According to the developer, players will effectively become a “bullet hell” force on the battlefield: fighters collect and evolve iconic weapons to cut through endless swarms of enemies.
Key features outlined by Auroch Digital include:
- Dual-verse combat: Engage in frenetic battles across environments ranging from the ashen plains of Aqshy to the narrow corridors of an abandoned Space Hulk.
Each stage hosts distinct enemy factions and hidden secrets.
- Legendary champions: Select from a roster of renowned characters drawn from both Warhammer universes.
Confirmed names include Malum Caedo, Chaplain Fo’Baran of the Salamanders, Knight-Commander Pask, Commissar Sebastian Yarrick, Marneus Calgar, the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, plus other iconic figures such as Sternguard Veterans and Stormcast heroes like Neave Blacktalon.
- Iconic arsenal and weapon evolution: Wield chainswords, bolters and realm-specific armaments, combine power-ups and evolve weapons into more devastating forms to clear screens of foes.
- Endless hordes and faction variety: Players will face horde-focused enemies such as Tyranids and Skaven, among several other factions from both Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar.
- Meta progression: Permanent unlocks for characters, weapons, abilities and relics expand options between runs and improve survival odds over time.
Release and platform details
Warhammer Survivors is slated for a digital release on the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch in 2026.
Auroch Digital’s announcement positions the title as a notable third-party release that will support both the current Switch hardware and Nintendo’s forthcoming Switch 2 platform.
