Ubisoft Canada Announces Opening of Rabbids Amusement Center in Montreal
Ubisoft, an industry leader in interactive entertainment, continues its strategy of brand expansion with the announcement of an innovative Rabbids Amusement Center slated to open on the West Island of Montreal in August.
This marks a significant step for the French publisher, renowned for franchises like Rayman, Assassin's Creed, and Just Dance, as it brings the Rabbids universe to life for families and children in their home province of Quebec.
The news precedes Ubisoft's much-anticipated next-generation theme park planned for Malaysia, originally aiming for a 2020 debut, but the company is moving forward with this smaller-scale initiative in North America first. Described as “a new type of amusement center,” the Montreal facility will feature attractions, activities, and playful environments inspired by the chaotic, humor-filled Rabbids franchise.
The center is designed to offer a fun and accessible experience for all ages, building on Ubisoft’s broader vision of creating physical entertainment spaces based on their popular gaming brands. Olivier Ernst, Managing Director of Ubisoft Canada, underscored the alignment between the brand’s unique appeal and the project’s goals.
“The Rabbids have universal appeal, which aligns perfectly with our vision for this initiative,” Ernst stated.
“With their recognition across the globe, the Rabbids brand allows us to develop a physical, enjoyable, and accessible experience for the whole family.
We’re extremely proud to bring this ambitious project to life in our home province.” The Rabbids, originally introduced in 2006 through Rayman Raving Rabbids, quickly evolved from a Rayman spin-off into a successful franchise of its own.
Known for their slapstick humor and wild antics, the Rabbids have been featured in multiple titles across various platforms, including Nintendo hardware.
Their latest Nintendo appearance was with 2012’s Rabbids Rumble on the Nintendo 3DS. Ubisoft’s decision to focus initially on the Montreal location demonstrates confidence in both the reliability of their intellectual property and the local market’s appetite for family entertainment.
The Rabbids Amusement Center will serve as a forerunner to Ubisoft's more grandiose international entertainment initiatives, offering fans physical interaction with beloved characters previously known only in digital form. With this project on track for an August opening, Ubisoft Canada is set to cement Quebec's significance as both a hub for game development and now broader family entertainment experiences.
As the Rabbids prepare to welcome guests, fans can look forward to a playful new chapter in Ubisoft’s legacy.
