Nintendo has made official sheet music and instrument guidance available for the ocarina melodies featured in The Legend of Zelda franchise, publishing the resources through its Zelda Notes app and the game's official Japanese website.
The move gives players and musicians direct access to notation and fingering diagrams for each in-game tune without requiring in-game unlocks.
According to Nintendo's announcement, the Zelda Notes companion app will host how-to music guides so fans can learn the melodies on real-world ocarinas.
The company also posted the same materials on the game's Japanese site, where the collection of twelve ocarina tunes is accompanied by sheet music, diagrams showing finger placement on an ocarina, and an embedded Play button that demonstrates each melody.
In journalistic terms: Nintendo confirmed it is providing sheet music and step-by-step ocarina fingerings through the Zelda Notes app and the official Japanese web portal, and made clear players do not need to progress through the game to access the materials.
The web tools include audio playback of each song so users can hear the correct phrasing and tempo before attempting to play on a physical instrument.
The resources are intended for fans who want to translate the game's music into real-world performance.
The site’s finger placement diagrams map ocarina holes to each tune’s notes, supporting learners who own standard ocarina models.
Alongside the published music, there is an official hardware tie-in: HORI launched pre-orders for an electric ocarina model in September.
The peripheral has begun appearing at some regional Nintendo retail locations where the playable unit is offered, giving collectors and performers a sanctioned way to play the melodies highlighted in Nintendo’s materials.
For Nintendo Switch owners and music-minded fans, the Zelda Notes app and the game’s website now act as definitive references for the series’ signature songs.
The materials are a welcome addition for players who follow Nintendo news and Nintendo Direct updates and who want to perform the melodies outside the game.
The sheet music and fingering guides can be accessed immediately via the app or the official Japanese site, letting fans move from humming a tune to actually playing it on a real ocarina.
