Retroid has confirmed pre-order windows, full hardware specifications and pricing for its latest emulation-focused handheld, the Retroid Pocket Nova.
The company says pre-orders will go live on its official store on June 26, 2026, at 9:00 PM Eastern (EST) or June 27, 2026, at 9:00 AM Beijing Time (BJT), depending on the customer’s region.
The Nova is positioned as a horizontal 4:3 emulation device running Android 13 and follows Retroid’s previous Pocket models.
Retroid’s timeline and first hands-on footage
In a recent update, Retroid published the first video of the Nova in operation and confirmed the handheld is compatible with Retroid’s Dual Screen Add-On.
The company also released clearer product images showing XYAB face buttons, a D-pad and twin analogue sticks in a bottom-stick layout, as well as a seven-color lineup.
Full hardware breakdown
Retroid unveiled the Nova’s chipset and core hardware in a subsequent update.
The device uses a Qualcomm QCS8550 processor — a 4nm part that shares the same CPU core configuration and Adreno 740 GPU as Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-based platforms but omits an integrated 5G modem.
Retroid says the Nova supports Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3, and will ship with Android 13.

Pricing, colorways and configurations
Retroid published three expected launch prices: an 8GB/128GB configuration in Black/16Bit/GC finishes for $229; a 12GB/128GB Black/16Bit/GC option for $269; and a 12GB/128GB set in Ice Blue, Crystal, Watermelon or Clear Purple for $274.
Retroid also updated its store page with the purchase links for pre-orders.
Context: past issues and consumer expectations
Retroid’s announcement arrives after the company’s earlier Pocket Mini controversy, where customers encountered screen-scaling problems that led to refunds and a hardware revision.
The Nova is the company’s first horizontal 4:3 handheld since that episode, and its full-spec reveal addresses many of the unknowns that followed the initial teaser.
Where to buy and next steps
Retroid’s official store will host pre-orders at the stated times.
The Nova’s combination of QCS8550 silicon, a 4.5-inch 120Hz AMOLED and multiple colorways positions it as a direct competitor in the handheld emulation market often discussed alongside devices such as the Nintendo Switch.
For buyers and industry watchers, the pre-order window on June 26/27 will be the first opportunity to secure the new device.
