PowerWash Simulator 2 Adventure Time DLC Delayed on Nintendo Switch 2: Release Timing and Details

PowerWash Simulator 2's anticipated Adventure Time DLC has hit an unexpected delay on the Nintendo Switch 2, with developer FuturLab attributing the setback to issues in the platform's submission and certification process.

While players on other platforms such as Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S will be able to access the downloadable content (DLC) beginning April 9th, Switch 2 users will need to wait at least two weeks longer for its release.

PowerWash Simulator 2, developed and self-published by FuturLab, has steadily built a following with its unique cooperative gameplay and a steady stream of crossover DLCs.

The Adventure Time expansion—highlighting the beloved Cartoon Network series—is the first major DLC for the sequel, further cementing FuturLab’s commitment to expanding its universe with creative collaborations.

In an official statement shared via Bluesky, FuturLab addressed Switch 2 players directly, noting that "the release of our Adventure Time pack on Switch 2 will arrive slightly later than on other platforms," and explaining that their transition to self-publishing introduced new learning curves, particularly in relation to Nintendo’s submission and approval procedures.

The team expressed regret over the lack of simultaneous launch across all platforms, emphasizing that timely releases are a priority for future DLCs.

They pledged to communicate the exact Nintendo Switch 2 release date once details are finalized, assuring fans that the additional wait will be minimized as much as possible.

Despite the delay, anticipation remains strong for the Adventure Time DLC.

Official trailers have showcased vibrant recreations of iconic settings from the Land of Ooo, including the Candy Kingdom, Finn and Jake’s Tree House, and the Ice King’s Castle.

Players can look forward to cleaning up five diverse levels, each supporting both solo and co-op play, with themed character skins and unique tools such as the Jake cherry picker adding a fun twist for fans of the animated series.

PowerWash Simulator 2 has enjoyed impressive engagement on platforms like Steam and PlayStation, and the addition of the Adventure Time DLC is expected to further its reach.

The expansion will maintain feature parity across platforms upon release, with full support for multiplayer modes through the Nintendo eShop and other digital storefronts.

FuturLab encourages players to wishlist the Adventure Time DLC on their respective storefronts and invites fans to join their Discord or follow social channels for the latest updates.

The developer continues to monitor the situation closely and promises more precise timing for the Switch 2 version as soon as information becomes available.

For now, Nintendo Switch 2 owners will have to wait a little longer to enjoy PowerWash Simulator 2’s first major crossover, but FuturLab remains committed to delivering a high-quality and synchronized experience across all platforms.

Stay tuned for further announcements as the new release window approaches.
