Polymega has opened pre-orders for Volume 23 in its curated retro library: City Connection, a seven‑game collection drawn from the archives of defunct developer Jaleco.
The announcement confirms the compilation is available to pre‑order via the Polymega website, with shipping expected to begin in early November.
Polymega's boxed volumes are marketed for owners of the Polymega modular classic‑game platform and collectors of physical retro anthologies.
Volume 23 centers on City Connection (1985), the titular platformer in which players pilot a small, jump‑capable car across stylized international stages while fending off pursuing police.
The compilation pairs that cult classic with six additional Jaleco titles, spanning arcade, home‑console and single‑screen platformer traditions.
Included games and original release years listed by Polymega: City Connection (1985); Game Tengoku / Game Paradise: Master of Shooting (1995), a colourful vertically scrolling shoot ’em up that saw arcade and mid‑’90s Sega Saturn appearances; Plus Alpha (1989), a formative multidirectional shooter; Scud Hammer (1994), a chaotic, battle‑style action game with heavy cartoon sensibilities; Chameleon (1983), an early single‑screen platformer from Jaleco's formative years; The Ignition Factor (1994), Jaleco’s SNES firefighting action title; and Rod Land (1990), a single‑screen platformer often cited as one of Jaleco’s best‑known releases.
Some of these Jaleco titles have previously appeared via Hamster’s Arcade Archives and other retro compilations, and Polymega’s Volume 23 joins that trend by assembling select library pieces into a single packaged release for collectors.
The collection preserves in‑game text and prompts from the originals.
For example, an enthusiastic in‑game message that once read, “Now!
You have driven all the highway!” can be plainly reported as the game informing players they have completed every highway section.
While many retro compilations and Arcade Archives ports have also been released digitally on platforms such as the Nintendo Switch eShop, Polymega’s Volume 23 is a physical offering targeted at owners of the Polymega hardware and retro collectors.
For pre‑order availability and shipping details, Polymega’s official storefront holds the current listing and fulfillment timetable.
