Nintendo Unveils PokéPark Kanto: Brand-New Pokémon Theme Park Set to Open in 2026 Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have officially released the first concept trailer for PokéPark Kanto, a permanent outdoor Pokémon theme park slated to open in Japan on February 5, 2026.

Positioned as the world’s first facility of its kind, PokéPark Kanto promises to deliver an immersive, real-world experience for Pokémon fans, celebrating the enduring legacy of one of the most iconic franchises in gaming history. PokéPark Kanto has been in development since its initial announcement in December 2023, representing a long-anticipated milestone for both Nintendo and The Pokémon Company.

Although the project’s opening was delayed, the extended timeline has allowed for major expansions in scope.

Now, the park is poised to offer broad attractions spanning hundreds of Pokémon species and several engaging themed zones. According to the park’s official website, PokéPark Kanto will feature two main areas: Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town.

Pokémon Forest is designed as a sprawling hiking trail, where guests can explore a variety of biomes, each inhabited by lifelike Pokémon statues representing over 600 unique creatures from across the franchise’s history.

Meanwhile, Sedge Town serves as a semi-recreation of beloved towns from the Pokémon video games, complete with an exclusive stadium gym modeled after the series’ most memorable battle arenas.

Visitors can look forward to a stage show highlighted by a troupe of dancing Pikachu, closely resembling the lively entertainment teased in the newly released trailer. Other key attractions include an exclusive merchandise shop, designed to offer park-specific collectibles, and a dedicated “Battle Court,” which is expected to host live-action experiences and interactive encounters centered around the famous Pokémon battles.

These unique features aim to bring the spirit of the Nintendo Switch and classic Pokémon games to life in an outdoor setting. Tickets for PokéPark Kanto’s highly anticipated grand opening will be available through a lottery system beginning November 21, 2025.

Guests can choose from two tiers: the “Ace Trainer’s Pass” or the regular “Trainer’s Pass.” The Ace Trainer’s Pass offers unlimited access to both Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town, prioritized entry for specific attractions, and reserved seating at the stadium gym.

Alternatively, the standard Trainer’s Pass allows unlimited access to Sedge Town and a specific time slot for entry into Pokémon Forest.

For visitors focused solely on Sedge Town’s attractions, a separate ticketing option is also available. PokéPark Kanto’s launch signifies a bold step for both Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, further expanding the global influence of the Pokémon franchise through experiential entertainment.

As the park prepares to welcome guests in early 2026, the newly unveiled trailer offers fans a first look at what promises to be a landmark destination for Pokémon enthusiasts worldwide.
