Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, published by Activision, is scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch 2 system on Oct. 23, 2026.
Ahead of launch, Activision is hosting a limited Open Beta on Nintendo Switch 2 from Aug. 28 at 10:00 a.m.

The weekend test will include multiplayer modes, a playable Campaign mission, Ground War, and other playable content for Switch 2 owners to sample.

Pre-load and account progression
Activision is allowing eligible players to pre-load the Open Beta ahead of the session to speed access once the beta goes live.
Activision advises players to open the game during the beta window to begin playing.
Signing in with an Activision Account during the Open Beta will tie earned eligible Beta rewards to the player’s Activision ID, allow those rewards to be accessible when Modern Warfare 4 launches, and preserve the same profile across multiple platforms.
Beta reward progression (verified)
Players can earn a series of cosmetic rewards by progressing through Beta levels.
Verified in‑Beta cosmetic rewards include:
- Player Level 4: “Through the Paces” Legendary Emblem
- Player Level 8: “First Served” Weapon Charm
- Player Level 12: “Meonjeo” Legendary Weapon Sticker
- Player Level 16: “Last Charge” Legendary Calling Card
- Player Level 20: “Dread Tiger” Operator Skin – Reece
- Player Level 23: “Field Tested” Epic Spray
- Player Level 26: “Beta Rights” Epic Loading Screen

Important progression note: Player Level, weapon unlocks, and other in‑Beta progression do not carry over to the full game.
Additional cosmetic items are also available during the beta, including default items (3 emblems, 3 calling cards, 1 spray, and 3 loading screens) and several challenge and Combat Record rewards that are designated as additional unlocks.
