Independent homebrew developer h0ffman — known for Neo Geo ports of Shinobi and Golden Axe — has been developing an unofficial Neo Geo conversion of Zero Wing.
In public comments earlier in 2026 he said the project is “nearly complete.” He described the build as including six layers of parallax backgrounds, two layers of sprites, and all game levels implemented; according to h0ffman, remaining work consisted of final bug fixes and adding Neo Geo CD support.
To be clear, h0ffman’s work is an unofficial homebrew project distinct from any commercial releases.
