EarthBound and Mother 3 Apparel Line Launches via Hobonichi and Warehouse Collaboration

Japanese retailer Hobonichi has just unveiled a new collaboration with iconic apparel brand Warehouse, bringing officially licensed EarthBound and Mother 3 shirts to the global fanbase.

This move continues Hobonichi’s tradition of celebrating the beloved Nintendo franchise with carefully crafted merchandise, catering to both longtime enthusiasts and new admirers of the Mother series.

The collection features three distinctive shirts, each adorned with the signature striped patterns famously worn by EarthBound’s protagonist Ness, as well as Mother 3’s leading characters, Lucas and Claus.

Reflecting the vibrant and memorable designs seen in-game, each shirt captures the essence of the characters that players have come to cherish over the decades.

Available now on the Hobonichi online store—with international shipping options—these shirts come in a range of adult sizes (S, M, L, XL), each priced at ¥9,900 (approximately $62.60 USD).

Fans of EarthBound’s Ness will also find a dedicated kids’ size available for ¥6,050 (about $38.25 USD), making the line accessible for fans of all ages.

At this time, the current collection does not include shirts inspired by the original Mother title, known outside Japan as EarthBound Beginnings.

However, Hobonichi has hinted that a shirt featuring the character Ninten could be introduced in a future release, providing hope for fans eager to see the complete series represented.

This apparel launch is the latest in a growing lineup of official Mother merchandise.

In recent years, Hobonichi has overseen the release of collectible plush figures and a clay figure set slated for 2025, along with exclusive collaborative items such as Converse sneakers and a limited-edition G-Shock watch launched in 2024.

These initiatives reflect the enduring popularity and cultural influence of Shigesato Itoi’s Mother series, which continues to captivate Nintendo fans worldwide.

Beyond apparel, this year marks the 30th anniversary of EarthBound, first released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994 (Japan).

To celebrate this legacy, an art exhibition featuring EarthBound’s clay figures is scheduled to be held in Tokyo during the summer of 2024, further highlighting the series’ enduring impact on the gaming and art communities.

With compelling new merchandise and milestone anniversaries, 2024 stands out as a significant year for EarthBound and Mother 3 fans.

Those interested can purchase the newly released shirts directly from the Hobonichi web store, ensuring both comfort and nostalgia in every stripe.
